Green-XL Horse Shampoo
Have you noticed that your horse is stamping or rubbing a lot? Some horses have sensitive skin and legs, for example due to eczema, mud fever, mites, rain rot, CPL, ringworm or scab. Green-XL Horse Shampoo, used in combination with the Horse Leg Cleaner, provides gentle cleansing and care for the skin and legs.
Does your horse also have a flaky or sensitive coat? Green-XL Horse is an eco-friendly grooming product that can be used safely as part of your daily grooming routine.
Horse Shampoo use
Very important: Always test the shampoo on a small patch of skin first to see how your horse reacts to it.
Usage:
Wet the coat thoroughly with cold or lukewarm water. Then apply Green-XL Horse Shampoo and massage it in well so that it reaches the skin. For horses with a lot of undercoat or a thick coat, it is important to lift the hair so that the shampoo actually reaches the skin.
Leave the shampoo to work for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
In principle, wash your horse once a week. If one treatment isn’t enough, or if the symptoms are persistent, you can repeat the treatment the following week. As soon as the skin shows visible signs of recovery, you can gradually reduce the frequency of treatment and only use it when necessary.
What does Green-XL horse shampoo do?
Green-XL Horse Shampoo has been developed for horses whose skin and legs require extra care, such as those with sensitive fetlocks, thick coats or skin that reacts easily to environmental factors.
The shampoo is widely used on horses that prone to mites, mud fever, scab, lice, rain rot, fungal infections, eczema or flaking. As their skin may react more quickly or retain more dirt, gentle but thorough cleansing is often recommended.
Green-XL Horse Shampoo helps to thoroughly loosen built-up dirt, sweat and debris, leaving the socks and legs clean and fresh continue — ideal for horses that are more prone to developing sensitivities or require more care.
With white socks, the gentle wash ensures a a clean, well-presented appearance, without putting strain on the skin.
🌿 Important notice regarding Green XL shampoo:
We are occasionally asked: The consistency of our Green XL shampoo can vary slightly. Sometimes the shampoo has a slightly thinner texture, whilst at other times it feels more gel-like.
These differences are perfectly normal and arise because our shampoo is a natural product, made with minimal processing and without artificial thickeners. The quality and effectiveness remain the same, of course – gentle on your hair and kind to the environment. This shampoo also does not lather because it is natural and contains no thickeners.
When will you notice a difference with this Horse Shampoo?
The speed at which a care product takes effect varies from horse to horse. This depends, amongst other things, on how sensitive the skin or socks are and how long the skin patches have been present.
Horses with legs prone to mud fever, skin prone to mites, flaking or sensitive socks often benefit from a consistent, gentle grooming routine.
Many horse owners say that their horse seems calmer and more at ease after regular washing, but every horse reacts differently.
Horses with CPL-prone legs often need extra care. This shampoo can be used to gently cleanse and condition the skin and socks, ensuring the skin stays clean and feels comfortable. It is not a cure for CPL itself, but it does provide valuable support as part of daily care.
