This herbal blend has been developed based on practical experience with horses that have sensitive skin. Many users combine it with topical products when their horse suffers from persistent itchy patches, whatever the season.
This herbal blend for severe itching has been carefully formulated for horses that suffer from persistent itching, rubbing or sensitive skin all year round. Whether the itching is caused by summer conditions, insects, damp, dirt, perspiration or dry winter skin—this pack provides support from within and cares for the skin naturally, helping it to remain balanced.
Restlessness can occur in any breed, but horses such as Tinkers, Friesians, Haflingers, draught horses, Fjords and Icelandic horses are often particularly prone to it. Scratching, biting, stamping and rubbing are not only seen on the tail and mane, but also on other parts of the body such as the legs, belly, neck, head or around the hooves. This can cause sore spots and a great deal of discomfort for the horse. With the right support, you can help the skin to remain stronger, calmer and better hydrated.
Paardenkriebels has therefore carefully formulated a complete herbal blend for horses that need intensive support from within.

Why do horses need herbs?
The ‘Severe Itch’ herbal blend for horses supports the skin from within.
Horses are naturally used to travelling kilometres sometimes for one specific herb. We, unfortunately, often cannot offer those herbs all in one place and not every herb grows on every type of soil. Unfortunately, it is not feasible for many people to adequately support their horses in this need, simply because there is not enough space/pasture. In order to give our horses the best possible base and meet their basic needs for vitamins, minerals and trace elements as much as possible.
It is important to give herb to the horse and see what you can do as an owner to bring the ration back to natural nutrition as closely as possible.

Use of herbs for horses safe or not?
Horses respond particularly well to herbs. Herbs help to restore the body’s equilibrium and balance, but you should never exceed the recommended dosage. The use of herbs leads to a gradual improvement in the animals’ health, particularly when the discomfort or problem has been present for some time.
However, it is wrong to assume that anything natural is harmless! Some herbs can be highly toxic. Giving herbs together with regular drugs could possibly counteract the effect of the drugs or cause complications such as severe colic.
Very occasionally, an allegic reaction ( called 'nettle rash') can occur in horses. The horse gets small bumps all over the body. If this happens, stop giving nettle; the bumps will disappear on their own within 24 hours.
