How do you use this skincare set?
For internal use:
Very important to know before you start using it:
- Always start with a small amount to see how your horse reacts to it.
- Never exceed the recommended dose
- If your horse is taking medication, always check with the vet first whether it goes with the herbs.
- Safety first, which is why it is better not to give herbs when your horse is pregnant.
- The amount depends on your horse's weight.
Age recommendations for herbal remedies (and blends) for horses
- Most mild herbs (such as botanical nettle, marigold, cleavers and dandelion)
- Suitable from 12 months
- Introduce in small quantities
- Strongly active herbs (such as botanical garlic, comfrey, and herbs containing bitter compounds)
- Not suitable for foals and yearlings
- Suitable for children aged 2.5 to 3 years and over
❌ Do not use if:
Pregnant mares
Very young foals (< 6 months)
Horses with liver or kidney problems (unless advised by a vet)
The ‘Severe Itching’ Horse Care Pack supports your horse naturally, both inside and out, allowing the skin to settle down. The natural ingredients in the ‘Severe Itching’ Horse Care Pack have been carefully selected to work together and complement one another.
Dosage and duration
Which option should you choose?
The herbal mix depends on your horse’s weight:
🍃Option 1: Kriebels herbal treatment – 6 weeks – for horses weighing between 200 kg and 400 kg (500 grams)
🍃Option 2: Kriebels herbal treatment – 6 weeks – for horses weighing 400–600 kg (1250 grams)
🍃Option 3: Kriebels herbal treatment – 6 weeks – for horses weighing 600 kg (1,350 grams) or more
This herbal blend consists of carefully selected ingredients such as botanical nettle, marigold, cleavers and dandelion. The blend is supplied as a pack of loose herbs, so you can mix them yourself.
Herbal supplements do not have an immediate effect. A horse usually needs a few weeks to get used to a herbal mixture.

Quality of the herbs

Using herbs for horses – safe or not?
Horses often respond well to herbs. They can help restore the body’s balance. Never exceed the recommended dose and build it up gradually. Using herbs usually leads to improvement gradually, especially when a problem has been going on for some time.
Natural ≠ always harmless. Some herbs can be harmful if used incorrectly. Combining herbs with conventional medicines may affect their efficacy or lead to complications (such as severe colic). You should therefore take care when using them whilst on medication, during pregnancy or when ill always in consultation with your vet.
Be aware of a possible allergic reaction (known as ‘nettle rash’). In rare cases, small bumps may appear all over the body. Then stop using stinging nettle; the spots usually disappear within ±24 hours by itself.
