Suitable for all breeds and ages - For horses that want to combine internal support with external care
This care pack for moderate itching has been carefully formulated for horses that suffer from persistent itching, rubbing or sensitive skin all year round. Whether the itching is caused by summer conditions, insects, damp, dirt, perspiration or dry winter skin—this pack supports the horse from within and cares for the skin naturally, helping it to remain in balance.
Restlessness can occur in any breed, but horses such as Tinkers, Friesians, Haflingers, draught horses, Fjords and Icelandic horses are often particularly prone to it. Scratching, biting, stamping and rubbing are not only seen on the tail and mane, but also on other parts of the body such as the legs, belly, neck, head or around the hooves. This can cause sore spots and a great deal of discomfort for the horse. With the right care and support, you can help the skin stay supple and achieve a better balance.
Paardenkriebels has therefore carefully put together a comprehensive care package for horses that require intensive skin care and support from within. By combining products, you enhance their effectiveness and tackle itching and skin care in a broader and more targeted way — both from the inside and the outside.

If your horse is taking medication, always check with the vet first whether it goes with the herbs.
Safety first, which is why it is better not to give herbs when your horse is pregnant.
The amount depends on your horse's weight.

The blend is supplied as loose botanical herbs for you to mix yourself. A course of treatment lasts 6 weeks, followed by a 4–6-week break. It is recommended that you alternate the herbs to provide a natural stimulus and regulate eating behaviour.
Herbal supplements do not have an immediate effect. A horse usually needs a few weeks to get used to a herbal mixture.
External use
Horse Shampoo use
Very important: Always test the shampoo on a small patch of skin first to see how your horse reacts to it.
Usage:
Wet the coat thoroughly with cold or lukewarm water. Then apply Green-XL Horse Shampoo and massage it in well so that it reaches the skin. For horses with a lot of undercoat or a thick coat, it is important to lift the hair so that the shampoo actually reaches the skin.
Leave the shampoo to work for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
In principle, wash your horse once a week. If one treatment isn’t enough, or if the symptoms are persistent, you can repeat the treatment the following week. As soon as the skin shows visible signs of recovery, you can gradually reduce the frequency of treatment and only use it when necessary.
Anti-scuff spray (for external use, 500 ml)
Spray a small amount onto the desired area of skin, mane or tail.
If necessary, gently spread the spray by hand or with a soft brush.
Use the spray as part of the daily external care routine for horses with itchy, flaky skin.
Ointment (50 ml)
For small, sensitive areas
Apply a thin layer 1–2 times a day
Gentle, nourishing and mild on the skin
Why herbs?
In the wild, horses seek out certain plants themselves. In our stables, they do not have that choice, which is why herbs are a valuable supplement. They gently support the body, promote balance and help the system to find calm. That is why many horses respond well to botanical herbs during periods of skin sensitivity or stress.
Quality of the herbs
The herbs from Paardenkriebels.nl are botanical, pure and sourced from reputable suppliers. We make a conscious choice to prioritise quality, because only herbs with a high content of active ingredients can really make a difference.
Using herbs for horses – safe or not?
Horses often respond well to herbal remedies. They can help restore the body’s balance. Never exceed the recommended dosage and build up the dose gradually. When using herbal remedies, improvement is usually gradual, particularly when a problem has been present for some time.
